HVAC Engineer

About the role

CBRE is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to maintain and optimize complex commercial heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration systems. You will lead proactive performance testing, scheduled maintenance, and repairs to ensure reliable operation and compliance with all codes and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assign tasks to team members and ensure timely completion.
• Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems for HVAC equipment.
• Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment, calibrating instruments and gauges as needed.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, recommend modifications, and implement solutions.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles to complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach and share expertise with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
• Model CBRE RISE values, build consensus, and communicate sensitive information effectively.

Required profile

• High School Diploma, GED, trade school diploma, or equivalent experience.
• 4‑5 years of relevant HVAC experience; supervisory or shift‑manager experience preferred.
• Physical ability to stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 lb or more.
• Strong judgment, analytical skills, and willingness to consider new perspectives.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Organizational skills and solid math ability for basic calculations.

Required skills

• Installation, repair, and maintenance of electric and pneumatic control systems.
• Calibration of HVAC instruments, gauges, and control components.
• Inspection and preventive maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment.
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving for mechanical and electrical failures.
