Maintenance Technician – Indigo at Cross Creek
Greystar · Indian Land
Job description
About the role
The Maintenance Technician will ensure that the physical aspects of the Indigo at Cross Creek property—including buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas—meet Greystar’s standards for cleanliness, safety, appearance, and functionality. This full‑time position involves responding to resident requests, performing preventative maintenance, and preparing vacant units for new occupants.
Key responsibilities
- Complete work orders from resident service requests and conduct preventative maintenance, diagnosing defects and repairing them according to policies, safety standards, and code requirements.
- Execute the “make‑ready” process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch‑list creation, vendor coordination, and final quality checks.
- Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment, tracking usage and notifying supervisors of re‑order needs.
- Document service requests accurately and promptly to ensure proper tracking.
- Maintain grounds and common areas by picking up debris, pressure‑washing breezeways and pool areas, and performing general cleaning and painting as needed.
- Support cost‑control initiatives by repairing rather than replacing parts whenever possible.
- Participate in safety meetings, complete OSHA‑related training, and report accidents or incidents.
- Inspect contractor work to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Required profile
- Adherence to Greystar’s safety and risk‑management policies, including attendance at routine safety meetings.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb independently (50 lb with assistance).
- Willingness to be on‑call during evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a rotating schedule.
- Valid driver’s license for operating a golf cart when required.
Required skills
- EPA certification Type 1 and Type 2 or Universal certification for refrigerant recycling.
- All state and local certifications required for service technicians.
- Proficiency in using standard maintenance tools and equipment.
What we offer
- Competitive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits with low employee‑only costs.
- Generous paid time off, including vacation, personal, sick days, and holidays, plus a birthday day off after one year.
- On‑site housing discounts at Greystar‑managed communities where available.
- 401(k) plan with company match up to 6% after six months of service.
- Paid parental leave and lifetime fertility benefit reimbursement up to $10,000.
