Human Resources Representative - Statewide Programs

About the role

The State of Illinois, Department of Central Management Services, is hiring a Human Resources Representative (class title 19692) for its Recruitment & Retention Statewide Programs in Springfield, IL. The position is the point of contact for veterans and persons with disabilities who want to learn about and start the process of getting employed or advancing in employment with the State of Illinois. It is a full-time, salaried union position.

Key responsibilities

• Counsel applicants for state employment by phone, email, in person and virtually, explaining what programs are available and what services they may qualify for.
• Educate potential applicants about the state employment process and facilitate it.
• Perform professional human resources assignments for the Workers with Disabilities Trainee Program (WDTP).
• Provide posting and application information for current vacancies across agencies and departments under the Governor's jurisdiction.
• Support the functions and services offered to current state employees and the public, with excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to handle many functions and services.
• Bilingual skills are welcome; the position is not bilingual.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the state does not sponsor visas.

• Anticipated starting salary of $5,834 per month, with a full range of $5,834 to $8,307 per month.
