Human Resources Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

OTTO Engineering is hiring a Human Resources Intern for the summer of 2027 in Carpentersville, Illinois. The intern supports the HR team with a variety of administrative and communications tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Review and update company job descriptions
• Assist the HR Generalist with the monthly employee newsletter
• Update all bulletin boards
• Conduct annual employee vision screenings
• Assist with yearly fire and tornado drills
• Take photos of company events and help with events such as picnics and cookouts
• Assist the recruiter with applicant dispositioning
• Learn the company's HR policies and benefits to answer internal staff inquiries
• Attend weekly department meetings and assist with other related duties as required

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in college, seeking a degree in HR, Communications, Business Administration or a related field
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Well organized, accurate and able to work independently
• Curious and willing to learn new skills

Required skills

• Computer literacy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
