Human Resources Generalist

About the role

Ford is seeking a versatile HR professional to act as a bridge between People First shared services and operational leaders in Southern California. The role combines HR Generalist, junior HR Business Partner, and HR Operations responsibilities, offering both consultative support and technical process expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end performance management, guiding leaders on coaching, documentation, and case resolution.
• Partner with Employee Relations to address inquiries and ensure consistent policy application.
• Provide basic leadership coaching on morale, retention, and engagement.
• Assist HRBP colleagues with workforce planning, annual people processes, and employee life‑cycle events.
• Serve as the subject‑matter expert on California‑specific HR policies, including leaves, final pay, and wage/hour regulations.
• Intake and prioritize high‑visibility HR inquiries such as payroll discrepancies and benefits escalations.
• Identify and improve systemic process bottlenecks in collaboration with People First, Payroll, HR Technology, and Recruiting teams.
• Maintain HCM data integrity and perform trend analysis using Excel, Oracle, and Visier.
• Participate in special projects like org‑design, position management, and data clean‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of HR experience in Generalist, Business Partner, or Shared Services roles.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR policies.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and drive systemic solutions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Oracle HRIS.
• Familiarity with Visier analytics platform.
