Human Resource Manager

About the role

Dot Foods Inc., a family-owned and operated company since 1960, is hiring a Human Resource Manager in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. Reporting to the Senior Director of Benefits and Compensation, the HR Manager leads human resources support, partners with managers to address employee needs and maintains a positive, compliant workplace. The role oversees personnel processes, onboarding, pay changes and related reporting, and identifies ways to improve HR programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead employee relations: advise managers, respond to employee concerns, conduct investigations and recommend fair, consistent resolutions.
• Coach managers on performance, attendance, workplace conduct, policy application and other people-related decisions.
• Oversee companywide personnel transactions, including onboarding records and pay changes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in line with company practices and requirements.
• Plan and deliver employee engagement, appreciation and wellness activities, such as blood drives and flu-shot clinics.
• Provide individual and group benefit consultation to employees.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coaching and conflict resolution skills.
• Trustworthiness to handle confidential and sensitive information.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail when managing employee records, personnel transactions and reporting.
• Ability to supervise assigned administrative and support staff.
• Occasional overnight travel for training, seminars and company events, independently by car, plane or train.
