Housekeeping Houseperson

About the role

Loews New Orleans Hotel, located in the Warehouse District of New Orleans, is hiring a Housekeeping Houseperson. The role covers cleaning public guest room areas and maintaining the cleanliness of common areas, with a friendly, service-oriented approach to guests.

Key responsibilities

• Clean all public guest room areas of the hotel as assigned
• Maintain public restrooms, lobby levels, ashtrays, elevators and tracks, ice machine areas, stairwells, building entrances and hallways
• Help room attendants empty trash and soiled linen from housekeeping carts
• Clean back-of-the-house windows as needed and vacuum guest hallways daily
• Wash guest room glassware and bring dirty glassware to housekeeping at the end of the shift
• Keep linen closets clean, stocked and organized, and bring trash to the compactor at the end of the day
• Follow department policies, attend meetings, report problems to supervisors and comply with safety and emergency procedures

Required profile

• Previous experience is an asset
• Able to work as part of a quality-driven team and with basic English
• Physical demands: standing, walking, lifting and bending over two-thirds of the time, lifting up to 150 pounds repeatedly, and flexible hours including weekends and holidays
• Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills
• Special vision requirements: clear vision at 20 inches and 20 feet, peripheral and depth perception
