Hotel Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Perform preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality and sustainability standards while treating guests in a warm and friendly manner.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct room inspections, identify repair needs and perform sheetrock installation or repair.
• Paint designated areas, install and replace basic electrical fixtures, light switches, receptacles and bulbs.
• Repair furniture and install, replace and program televisions.
• Perform minor plumbing functions and maintain heating and cooling pumps, including preventative maintenance on HVAC units.
• Trace and repair water lines, troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records and ensure compliance with local, state and federal codes.
• Assist as a bell attendant during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Follow service recovery guidelines, practice safe work habits and comply with MSDS and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• High School diploma; trade school coursework in a related field preferred.
• Previous engineer/maintenance experience or equivalent training required.

Required skills

• Electrical fixture installation and basic wiring.
• Minor plumbing and water line repair.
• HVAC pump maintenance and preventative service.
• Television installation, replacement and programming.
• Sheetrock installation and wall covering repair.
• Painting and basic carpentry for furniture repair.
