Hospitalist Director – Physician Leadership Role

About the role

This full‑time Hospitalist Director position is based in western Vermont and focuses on 100% inpatient care. The role operates Monday‑Friday during daytime hours and combines direct patient care with administrative leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide inpatient physician services for a 100% inpatient clinic.
• Allocate 50% of time to patient‑facing duties and 50% to leadership and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with a team of 10 physicians and 3 advanced practice providers.
• Oversee operations of an open 10‑bed ICU and ensure compliance with hospital policies.
• Utilize Meditech EMR for documentation and care coordination.

Required profile

• Ability to obtain and maintain a medical license in Vermont.
• 1–3 years of post‑training experience in family or internal medicine.
• Board‑certified (or board‑eligible) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Strong clinical, management and leadership capabilities.
• Current U.S. work visa if applicable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Meditech EMR system.

What we offer

• Hospital‑employed salary range $340,000–$350,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
