Hospital Pharmacist – Lead/Travel (Peridot, AZ)

About the role

The Lead Pharmacist will oversee daily pharmacy operations at a hospital in Peridot, AZ. This position offers flexible scheduling (8‑ or 10‑hour shifts) and may include travel assignments. The role requires strong leadership, regulatory compliance, and a focus on continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise daily pharmacy activities to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Develop and monitor operational and financial performance metrics.
• Create, implement, and evaluate departmental policies and procedures.
• Lead continuous process‑improvement initiatives.
• Manage computer‑based dispensing systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Oversee purchasing, inventory control, and cost‑effective medication management.
• Provide staff coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Prepare monthly operational reports and identify areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited program.
• At least 5 years of professional pharmacy experience, including 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy practice; residency (PGY‑1) preferred.
• Current, unrestricted Arizona pharmacist license.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to pass background and drug screening.
