Hospice Volunteer

About the role

BAYADA Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers to support clients and families throughout Windham County. This unpaid role offers a variety of in‑person and virtual activities that enhance the hospice experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide companionship to patients through visits, reading, life‑review conversations, and exercise.
• Assist with legacy projects such as arts, cooking, music, and crafts to help families remember their loved ones.
• Support senior living facilities with reading, movies, crafts, and other activities.
• Participate in pet therapy, gardening assistance, bereavement support, and vigil companionship.
• Track volunteer hours and help with office tasks like companionship calls.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check as required by state law.
• Meet all applicable state requirements for volunteers.
