Hospice Volunteer Coordinator

About the role

Heart and Home Hospice, part of the LHC Group and the Optum family, provides home health, hospice and community-based services. As a Volunteer Manager, you will lead, manage and coordinate agency volunteers, supporting the company's operations. The position is based in Fruitland, Idaho.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment, training, ongoing education and assignments for Hospice Volunteers in line with regulatory and state guidelines.
• Take the actions needed so that program standards meet regulatory or certification bodies and company requirements.
• Meet with patients, caregivers, families and the hospice team to coordinate patient-care-related volunteer assignments.
• Assign volunteers to activities, monitor their reports and escalate urgent matters to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain accurate, timely volunteer activity care plan documentation in the electronic medical record system, in compliance with federal and state standards.

Required profile

• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation.
• Preferred: current CPR certification or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
• Preferred: experience in a healthcare environment, effective communication and presentation skills, and proven management and leadership skills.

Required skills

• Experience with the Microsoft Suite and ability to learn multiple applications.

• Hourly pay of $25.70 to $38.60 for full-time employment, depending on factors such as local labour market, education and experience.
