Hospice Aide, PRN – STNA Required

About the role

The Hospice Aide provides compassionate, patient‑first care to individuals receiving hospice services in their homes, nursing facilities, or assisted‑living centers. This PRN position works 8‑hour shifts on an as‑needed basis, with a minimum of 48 hours over a six‑week period.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic patient care activities and assist with physician‑ordered procedures under supervision.
• Help patients with personal care, activities of daily living, transfers, and transportation.
• Report and document any abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, or emotional condition to nursing staff.
• Maintain a clean and orderly patient environment and keep complete, up‑to‑date documentation.
• Escalate changes in patient condition to the physician as appropriate.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA) certification listed on the Ohio Nurse’s Aide Registry.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license with required automobile insurance coverage.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (obtained during orientation).
• Ability to work ambulatory, climb stairs, and lift/move patients as needed.

Required skills

• STNA certification.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Valid driver’s license and appropriate auto insurance.
