Histology Technician

About the role

IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA is seeking a Histology Technician. The technician prepares high-quality slides for pathological analysis through tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining, and works with pathologists and laboratory colleagues to deliver accurate, timely results while meeting regulatory, quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation through tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning and staining
• Partner with pathologists to facilitate analysis and timely delivery of results
• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation according to SOPs, good documentation practices and regulatory guidelines
• Ensure compliance with local, federal, CLIA and CAP requirements
• Support process improvements that improve data quality, reduce costs or shorten turnaround times
• Maintain laboratory inventory, housekeeping, safety, quality and 6S standards
• Support study setup and laboratory or cross-functional projects as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Typically 2-3 years of experience in a histopathology lab or discipline
• ASCP qualification or equivalent, plus 1 year of experience in a clinical, research, academic or commercial/production laboratory
• Detailed knowledge of histology techniques, specialized equipment, clinical testing procedures, staining techniques and laboratory testing regulations
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve process issues
• Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand and walk frequently, and work closely with eyes; occasional cold exposure

• Base pay range of $46,200 to $96,200 per year, depending on qualifications, location and schedule; additional incentive plans, bonuses or compensation may apply
