Hiring & Classifications Manager

About the role

The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is seeking an experienced Hiring & Classifications Manager (Public Service Administrator) to lead its Hiring and Classifications team. The role oversees strategic workforce planning, policy development and operational effectiveness, covering compliance, talent acquisition, classification processes, labor relations support and organizational structure. It is a full-time, salaried position in Springfield, IL, with an anticipated starting salary of $8,625-$10,178 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Hiring Team Manager and the Classifications Team Manager.
• Organize, plan, attend and track agency career fair attendance and community outreach related to recruiting.
• Serve as a full-line supervisor.
• Act as a member of the DCEO Labor Relations Advisory Team, recommending to the Labor Relations Administrator and interpreting union contracts, supplemental agreements, past practices, CMS Personnel Rules, the Code, the Pay Plan and DCEO rules and policies.
• Manage the administration of Personal Service Contracts (PSCs).
• Perform other duties as assigned that fall within the scope of the duties listed above.
