About the role
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is hiring a Health Aide/Safety Monitor on a PRN (as‑needed) basis for the Admissions Unit at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta. This part‑time position works the 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM shift and focuses on maintaining a safe, contraband‑free environment for patients entering admissions.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect patients entering the Admissions Area to ensure they are free of contraband before placement.
- Monitor patient activity within the Admissions Unit to prevent negative interactions.
- Promote a safe environment and protect staff and patients from harm.
Required profile
- At least one year of experience in mental health, medical, or a related field.
- Experience performing direct‑care activities and basic nursing procedures for individuals with physical, mental health, or substance‑abuse disabilities.
- Experience working with forensic patients or correctional offenders.
- Valid driver’s license and proficient computer skills.
