Head of Operations – Apparel Wholesale

About the role

The Head of Operations will partner directly with the President/General Manager and owners of a privately‑owned, family‑run apparel company serving major U.S. department stores. This senior leader will align teams, processes, and systems to support rapid growth and increasing operational complexity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable operational processes from sales hand‑off through production and delivery.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including product, sales, finance, production, HR, and warehouse to ensure clear ownership and accountability.
• Professionalize reporting, KPI tracking, and resource planning to improve efficiency.
• Manage relationships with overseas manufacturing partners and oversee in‑house sample capabilities.
• Support staffing, training, and culture initiatives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Required profile

• Senior operations, business operations, general management or COO‑type experience in apparel, fashion accessories, consumer goods, or a similar wholesale business.
• Proven track record working with major retailers such as Walmart, Target, Macy’s, Nordstrom, or comparable accounts.
• Experience in founder‑led, family‑owned, or mid‑size companies is highly valued.
• Strong communication, business judgment, and ability to build trust across functions.
