Guest Service Agent - Front Desk

About the role

The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs is hiring an entry-level Guest Service Agent for its Front Desk department. The position reports to the Front Office Supervisor and Front Office Manager and requires working independently and making sound business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a warm, friendly and professional demeanor, with clear speech and pleasant communication
• Check guests in and out according to hotel standards
• Set up and settle guest accounts according to accounting processes
• Control room keys and balance room inventory
• Assist in accommodating guest requests and handle cash according to standard operating procedures
• Sell rooms and promote resort amenities, dining and activities
• Keep the front and back offices clean and orderly, and perform other duties needed by guests

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D.; pursuing a hospitality or related degree preferred
• Prior hotel or customer service experience preferred
• Flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays; possible overtime
• Commitment to the job and consistent demonstration of the Twelve Greenbrier Values

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and general knowledge of office and telephone procedures
• Knowledge of basic accounting functions
• Experience with Opera (property management system) and Knowcross is beneficial
