Fundamental Credit Research Analyst

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Fundamental Credit Research Analyst in New York, working closely with the senior analyst covering the investment-grade Technology, Media and Cable/Telecom (TMT) sectors. The role is dynamic because of its multi-sector nature and the rapid impact of AI on industries and credit markets. The analyst supports all aspects of research coverage, including tracking industry developments and data, modelling companies and publishing trade-oriented research. The position is regulated by FINRA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse market, sector, corporate and economic data to develop investment theses and produce research ranging from company and sector notes to long-dated thematic reports.
• Present research views to clients through face-to-face and virtual meetings, research-hosted events and written communications.
• Engage with Markets, Client Strategy and other stakeholders to promote research with clients and internally, prioritising the most relevant clients.
• Share insights and research views with internal clients to help them navigate financial markets and risks.
• Collaborate with the Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and others so that research is produced and delivered in a compliant manner.

Required profile

• Experience supporting research responsibilities, including financial modelling, qualitative analysis and writing.
• Knowledge of current events and how they affect financial markets in the assigned sector.
• Ability to use AI tools appropriately to drive efficiency and insights.
• Legal right to work in the United States; Barclays requires this for every role.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and qualitative analysis
