Agency CMO Trader/Structurer AVP

About the role

Barclays is hiring an Agency CMO Trader/Structurer AVP in its Markets business area, based in the New York office. The role executes trades and manages risk across a defined portfolio of Agency MBS and related financial instruments, supporting daily market-making and hedging while overseeing risk metrics, P&L reporting and trade accuracy. It sits in the Securitised Products area and is regulated by FINRA.

Key responsibilities

• Execute buy and sell orders or price liquidity in financial instruments in line with the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
• Monitor global financial markets, economic indicators, news and geopolitical events to spot trading opportunities and assess risks.
• Manage and monitor the risk of the trading portfolio and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal risk guidelines.
• Work with research analysts and other teams to gather insights for trading decisions.
• Support market-making and hedging, and maintain oversight of risk metrics, P&L reporting and trade accuracy.
• Collaborate with structurers, sales, research and technology partners to improve analytics, trading infrastructure and deal execution.

Required profile

• Expertise in Agency MBS products, including TBA, specified pools and CMO structures.
• Understanding of market-making, hedging strategies and portfolio risk management.
• Ability to conduct prepayment analysis and mortgage relative value assessments.
• Experience working with modeling, research and technology teams to improve trading analytics and infrastructure.
• AVP level expectations: advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development, lead collaborative assignments and coach team members.

The advertised salary range is $125,000 to $175,000 (base salary only).
