Full-Time Hospital Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Hospital is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Worker to ensure that all non‑medical equipment, building systems and utilities operate reliably. The role involves routine preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and participation in fire safety drills to keep the facility safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to trouble calls throughout the hospital and perform repairs on dietary, environmental service equipment, beds, plumbing, lighting and HVAC systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on air handling units, dish machines, exhaust fans, chillers and boilers.
• Coordinate and execute fire drills as a member of the hospital fire response team.
• Perform general building repairs including carpentry, ceiling and floor work, painting, and furniture repairs.
• Carry out minor electrical repairs on portable non‑medical equipment and replace interior lighting as needed.
• Maintain documentation required by regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to address emergency situations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; preferably 3+ years of experience in building or facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of hospital safety policies, fire safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work both under normal conditions and during emergencies, following proper safety protocols.
• Commitment to excellent customer service and teamwork.
