About the role

The Surgical Technologist provides technical support in the perioperative period under the direction of a registered nurse, working on 13‑26‑week assignments at BayCare hospitals.

Key responsibilities

Provide technical assistance during surgical procedures, ensuring compliance with clinical standards.
Maintain sterile technique, set up instrumentation and equipment, and manage the sterile field.

Required profile

High School diploma or equivalent plus an accredited Surgical Technology program and at least 1 year of surgical technician experience (or 5 years acute‑care experience with military/hospital training).
NBSTSA certification (or 5 years experience without certification) and current BLS certification.

Required skills

Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set‑up.
NBSTSA certification.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
