Full Stack Engineer - Automated Receivables

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Full Stack Engineer in its Whippany, NJ office, within the Global Payment Services business area. The engineer works on the automated receivables product as part of the US Corporate expansion, designing, developing and improving software that delivers business, platform and technology capabilities to customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and improve software using industry-standard languages, frameworks and tools, keeping code scalable, maintainable and performance-optimized.
• Build scalable, resilient backend systems with Java (Spring Boot).
• Develop user interfaces with Angular and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other engineers on requirements, solution strategies and integration.
• Take part in code reviews, share knowledge and stay current on technology trends.
• Follow secure coding practices and implement unit testing.

Required profile

• Experience with Java 11 or higher, Spring Boot, REST, API security, JPA, Oracle, CI/CD pipelines, Kafka/JMS/MQ, Angular, JUnit/Mockito, API gateways, financial domains and containers/cloud development.
• Ability to act as a subject matter expert and trusted point of contact for the development team.
• Valued: guiding engineering teams on best practices, delivering scalable and business-aligned solutions, and risk, controls, change and transformation awareness.

What we offer

• Base salary of $170,000 to $230,000.
