Front Desk Specialist

About the role

The Front Desk Specialist coordinates patient registration, insurance verification, and scheduling to ensure accurate and efficient patient flow. This position creates a welcoming experience for patients both in person and over the phone while supporting financial clearance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic, insurance, and clinical information.
• Verify and complete referring provider orders before appointments.
• Scan and file insurance cards, identification, and regulatory documents accurately.
• Obtain signatures for consents and ensure timely reimbursement.
• Determine patient financial liability, provide estimates, and refer to financial counseling as needed.
• Review daily schedules, identify conflicts, and coordinate resolutions with staff and providers.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of customer service or healthcare experience.
• Ability to interact with a diverse patient population, including emergency cases.
• Successful completion of required training within two attempts.

Required skills

• Computer proficiency and typing skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Bilingual ability in Spanish and English (preferred).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification (preferred).
