Front Desk Medical Receptionist – Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

We are looking for a friendly, organized Front Desk Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients at our high‑volume obstetrics and gynecology practice. The role supports multiple providers across several locations in Central Florida and ensures a smooth, welcoming experience for every visitor.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression.
• Schedule appointments and manage calendars for multiple physicians.
• Check patients in and out, verify insurance, and collect co‑pays, deductibles, and balances.
• Answer incoming calls, route messages, and handle general administrative tasks such as scanning, faxing, and data entry.
• Assist with insurance verification, benefits eligibility, and related paperwork.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations when handling personal medical information.
• Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure efficient office operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
• At least 1 year of experience in an obstetrics‑gynecology setting.
• Minimum 1 year of customer‑service experience.
• Detail‑oriented, able to multitask and work well in a team‑oriented environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Athena EMR system.
