Freight Brokerage Dispatcher (Remote)

About the role

A client of U.S. Traffic is looking for an experienced Freight Brokerage Dispatcher to work remotely. The role manages end-to-end coordination of freight shipments across the USA and Canada, handling truck bookings, rate negotiations and cross-border compliance. It is an autonomous, non-team-management position requiring strong organization, attention to detail and excellent communication with carriers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare precise, competitive freight quotations that meet company standards and client expectations.
• Source reliable carriers, negotiate rates and book trucks for freight transportation.
• Manage the full lifecycle of FTL and LTL shipments from pickup to delivery.
• Coordinate cross-border shipments between Canada and the USA in line with customs regulations and FMCSA guidelines.
• Track shipments and give customers proactive updates, resolving delays and service issues promptly.
• Keep freight documentation accurate and complete, including Bills of Lading, Proof of Delivery and rate confirmations.
• Use TMS and freight load boards such as DAT One and Truckstop to run dispatch workflows.
• Maintain strong communication with customers and carriers and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• At least three years of North American freight brokerage experience.
• Proficiency in English and a strong customer service orientation.
• Experience with customs requirements and documentation.
• Ability to work autonomously and handle multiple shipments at once.
