Customer Service Representative (Logistics)

About the role

Bennett Heat Treating & Brazing Co., Inc. is looking for a dependable, organized and detail-oriented Customer Service Representative to act as the main point of contact for customers and support daily order, shipping, warehouse and billing processes. The role centres on answering about 20 to 50 incoming calls per day, mostly about order status, and works in a highly manual, process-driven industrial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Answer customer calls, research order status in the Visual Shop ERP system, coordinate with the warehouse and give verified updates
• Respond to customer emails, request missing information and follow up until the issue is resolved
• Generate shipping tickets and certifications, attach purchase orders and check that orders have the documents needed for shipping and billing
• Prepare UPS shipping labels daily and coordinate about five common-carrier pickups per week
• Support billing documentation and help prevent invoicing delays
• Resolve routine customer and shipping issues independently and escalate others
• Assist with minor purchasing and general office administration

Required profile

• At least three years of customer service experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to handle 20 to 50 calls per day and manage multiple priorities
• Reliable transportation or a dependable commute plan
• Preferred: experience in manufacturing, logistics or distribution, and with ERP or order-management systems

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Strong verbal and written communication and telephone and email etiquette
• Attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving
• Ability to learn Visual Shop ERP and company procedures
