Fraud Strategy Data Scientist

About the role

Join BILL’s Fraud Risk Strategy team to lead projects that detect fraud, analyze risk, and mitigate loss. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to design and execute data‑driven control strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and refine risk‑strategy frameworks and automated monitoring rules.
• Build and deploy predictive algorithms and complex SQL/Python scripts to address ambiguous fraud problems.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to capture risk signals at multiple touchpoints.
• Create performance dashboards and diagnostic analytics using Tableau.

Required profile

• 3+ years of end‑to‑end fraud risk control experience in eCommerce or online payments.
• Proven ability to design, execute, and iterate control strategies that meet KPIs.
• Experience leading cross‑functional projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and influence decision‑making.
