Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

Impulse Space is seeking an AP Specialist in Redondo Beach who is familiar with the internal controls and processes of Accounts Payable. The specialist creates processes and procedures to maintain vendor history and process payments to vendors.

Key responsibilities

• Process invoices and payments accurately and on time using the ERP system
• Maintain vendor and customer databases in the ERP system
• Create policies and procedures for the AP function and vendor maintenance
• Prepare month-end accruals, reconcile accounts, and help achieve a quick AP close
• File indirect tax returns and annual filings such as 1099, and partner with a third-party tax provider on quarterly and year-end filings
• Complete new vendor packets, ensure accurate GL coding, and prepare monthly reconciliations
• Handle AP month-end journal entries and take part in the financial audit, including audit schedules for AP
• Address inquiries from vendors and customers and resolve discrepancies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of demonstrated Accounts Payable experience
• Knowledge of indirect taxes such as sales tax
• Understanding of internal controls over AP transactions
• Ability to handle sensitive information appropriately
• Preferred: 3+ years of AP experience in an aerospace or start-up environment

Required skills

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
• ERP experience is a plus
• Strong organization, attention to detail, time management and communication skills

• Pay of $80,000 - $95,000 per year
