Forge Operator – Night Shift

About the role

Gerdau is seeking a dedicated Forge Operator to join its steel production team on the night shift. You will be responsible for the safe operation of forge equipment, ensuring product quality, and performing routine start‑up and shutdown procedures in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forge equipment safely, performing routine checks and quality inspections.
• Execute start‑up and shutdown sequences, including control panel functions and breaker resets.
• Start and monitor all conveyors, align slings on the unscrambler, and adjust pinch rolls and dies.
• Troubleshoot mechanical components such as finger and arm, stock gauge, kicker pin, springs, tooling, and transfer lifts.
• Perform forge tooling conversions, die alignment, and process monitoring to meet customer specifications.
• Complete daily control sheets, forge logs, and safety inspections accurately.
• Assist the Plant Superintendent with additional duties as required.

Required profile

• Mechanical knowledge and strong inclination toward hands‑on work.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Proficiency with torching and welding tasks.
• Ability to work night shift (7 pm – 7 am) on a 3‑days‑on/3‑days‑off schedule.
