Food Safety Regulatory Specialist

About the role
Driscoll's is looking for a Food Safety Regulatory Specialist to join its Food Safety, Regulatory and Social Compliance team. The role ensures compliance with multiple regulatory bodies and supports the execution of the company’s Food Safety Program across growers, production, and distribution.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor product use reports, ranch restrictions, and update active ingredient Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) and Pre‑Harvest Intervals (PHIs) for export markets.
- Assist in coordinating decline studies, analyze results, and present findings.
- Support compliance activities related to organic integrity, social responsibility, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate food safety records, audit certificates, and facility data.
- Investigate customer complaints, collaborate with Sales and Operations, and communicate resolutions.
- Manage customer requests, surveys, and compliance documentation for the Sales team.
- Administer the Food Safety platform, including user management, system configuration, training, and issue resolution.
- Work with IT on functional testing, issue investigation, and validation of system enhancements.
- Analyze and visualize food safety data and metrics for business use.
- Stay current with regulatory changes and update SOPs accordingly.
Required profile
- 2–4 years of experience in agriculture, preferably focused on food safety, regulatory compliance, GAPs, and GMPs.
- General understanding of food safety and FSMA.
- Regulatory knowledge for the United States and Canada; knowledge of other countries is a plus.
- Understanding of MRLs, PHIs, and pesticide usage.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and collaborative ability across teams.
- Valid driver’s license; eligible for company vehicle.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with data analytics tools, preferably Tableau.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (recommended).
