Food & Beverage Cafe Manager

About the role

Midtown, which owns and operates eight luxury athletic clubs across the United States and Canada, is hiring a Food & Beverage Cafe Manager for its club in Palatine, Illinois. This is a full-time, salaried senior leadership role overseeing all food and beverage operations, including the café, poolside concessions and events, within a hybrid hospitality model that combines luxury service with a casual, community-driven club atmosphere.

Key responsibilities

• Serve on the club's Senior Leadership Team and collaborate across departments on operations and strategy.
• Own the member experience so all outlets deliver a consistent, high-quality hospitality experience.
• Lead daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations in partnership with the National Director of Food & Beverage.
• Manage revenue, expenses, labor and cost of goods to meet financial goals while keeping member satisfaction high.
• Recruit, train, coach and develop associates and supervisors through feedback, mentorship and performance management.
• Partner on culinary direction, offering development, SOPs and menu evolution aligned with member needs and industry trends.
• Help create and run events and programming that drive participation and community.
• Oversee inventory, procurement, safety, sanitation and vendor relationships.

Required profile

• More than 2 years managing food and beverage or hospitality operations.
• Experience leading teams of 25+ associates in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L management, including labor, COGS and expenses.
• Experience managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
• Strong communication, organization and leadership skills.
