Facilities Manager

About the role

Midtown is looking for a Facilities Manager to lead its facilities team and keep the club's buildings, grounds and physical plant safe, clean and functional for members, guests and associates. The manager handles all engineering and maintenance operations, manages the budget, capital expenditures, preventative maintenance and energy conservation, maintains regulatory compliance and leads the emergency response team. The salary is stated as $80,000 to $90,000 depending on credentials and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Daily walk-throughs and urgent corrective action on issues and deficiencies, working with the General Manager and National Facilities Director to meet brand standards.
• Regular maintenance inspections and planning, directing and performing general and preventative maintenance across the club property, using the RPM tool and troubleshooting equipment.
• Be available and on call 24/7 for facilities and maintenance emergencies.
• Maintain and operate equipment such as laundry, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems, and partner with the housekeeping director on a maintenance and cleaning program.
• Coordinate ongoing facilities projects, report progress, oversee capital improvement projects and ensure vendor contracts meet Midtown standards.
• Recruit and develop the facilities team, guide hiring and retention, and hold the team accountable for brand initiatives.
• Take part in the MOD schedule, which may include closing duties at least once a week, and attend required manager meetings.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of hands-on facility maintenance experience and a minimum of 3 years of management experience in a related field.
• Technical training or equivalent experience in engineering and maintenance.
• CFM or IFMA certification preferred; knowledge of fire and life safety equipment and OSHA standards.
• Degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping and laundry operations and swimming pool maintenance preferred.

Required skills

• Strong operational knowledge of HVAC and related mechanical systems preferred.
• Computer literacy in MS Office, preventative maintenance systems such as FMX and building automation systems.
