Food and Beverage Director

About the role

Hilton Garden Inn Washington DC Downtown, a 299-room hotel near the White House and the McPherson Square metro station, is hiring a Food and Beverage Director. The director oversees food and beverage functions and outlets, making sure the division meets its financial goals while operating in line with guest service and sustainability standards. The salary range is $75,000 to $79,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Interview, select, train, schedule, coach and support associates so they meet brand and hotel standards.
• Monitor performance against service, sanitation and productivity standards to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and control food and beverage inventories and related equipment, and control labor costs.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation at Health Department-required ratings.
• Manage food preparation and organize and prioritize multiple projects and tasks with deadlines.
• Monitor and forecast food and beverage revenues and expenses monthly and yearly.
• Implement new menu items and food and beverage policies and procedures.
• Develop and manage the annual food and beverage budget.
• Implement and monitor ordering and receiving to ensure proper quantities and prices.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the HHM EarthView program and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Progressive food and beverage management experience in a hotel or venue of similar size.
• Work schedule varies and may include holidays and weekends; the role involves standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds and bending or reaching.
