Restaurant Server

About the role

The Kimpton Banneker Hotel in Washington, DC is hiring a Restaurant Server. The server serves food and beverage to guests courteously and in line with the hotel's guest service and sustainability standards. The position is paid $10.30 per hour and offers a growth path to roles such as Restaurant Supervisor, Banquet Server, Captain, Restaurant Manager and Banquet Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve food and beverage to guests in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Take food and beverage orders and place them in the point of service system.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction and follow guest satisfaction scores.
• Set and clear tables in dining areas and stock service stations with items such as ice, napkins or straws.
• Pick up orders from food preparation areas and prepare guest checks, including payment transactions where appropriate.
• Perform other food and beverage functions such as bartending and bussing during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Follow sustainability guidelines under the HHM EarthView program, practice safe work habits, wear protective equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.

Required profile

• Previous food and beverage experience required, or equivalent training.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of POS systems; TIPS certification preferred.
