Field Service Representative – Ground Robotics

About the role

Carnegie Robotics seeks a hands‑on Field Service Representative to deploy, operate, maintain and troubleshoot its ground robotic platforms worldwide. The position involves extensive travel to customer sites, test locations and training events.

Key responsibilities

• Travel 80‑90% of the time nationally and internationally to support deployments, demonstrations, training and operational missions.
• Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, networking, software, sensor and vehicle‑system issues.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, system calibrations, safety checks and readiness verifications.
• Provide on‑site technical support, training and documentation to customers and operators.
• Collaborate with engineering, integration, manufacturing and operations teams to resolve field issues and improve reliability.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude with experience on complex equipment or robotic systems.
• Ability to work independently in remote or austere environments while maintaining clear communication with internal teams.
• Comfortable making technical decisions with limited supervision and adhering to safety‑first practices.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to lift ~40 lb, and willingness to travel internationally for extended periods.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and use of hand/power tools.
• Electrical systems knowledge, wiring and connector troubleshooting.
• Basic IP networking and computer skills.
• Familiarity with Linux command‑line environments.
• Use of diagnostic and test equipment to analyze system logs and performance.
