Field Service Engineer – Implant – Taylor (C3)

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers to install, maintain, and upgrade semiconductor equipment. The role involves troubleshooting using digital analytics and performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on complex systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform startup activities through Tier II with limited support and complete qualifications with minimal assistance.
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
• Coordinate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations, respond to fab issues, and participate in escalation calls.
• Identify procedural issues, perform retrofits, and contribute to projects that reduce cost or increase equipment uptime.

Required profile

• Demonstrates strong customer focus and maintains clear, consistent communication.
• Able to operate effectively in high‑pressure or ambiguous situations and develop corrective action plans.
• Provides informal guidance to junior team members and complies with safety and IP guidelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas system diagnostics.
• Experience using digital analytics tools for troubleshooting.
• Ability to follow detailed checklists, procedures, and schematics.
