Field Investigator – SIU (North Shore or South Shore, MA)

About the role

Join MAPFRE's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) as a Field Investigator covering Massachusetts' North Shore or South Shore. You will conduct independent, in‑person investigations that support claims professionals across personal and commercial lines, helping to identify fraud and assess coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Perform timely, thorough field investigations of casualty, physical‑damage, no‑fault, commercial and property claims, including interviews, site analyses, and evidence collection.
• Collaborate with law‑enforcement agencies, other carriers, and industry fraud‑fighting organizations.
• Maintain accurate documentation, expense reports, and meet SIU productivity goals.
• Support defense counsel with trial preparation, depositions and examinations under oath.
• Mentor less‑experienced adjusters and contribute to workflow improvements.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of claims‑adjusting experience with physical‑damage, PIP, casualty and SIU elements, or 5+ years of professional investigative experience with a law‑enforcement agency.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional knowledge; Criminal Justice degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work independently in varied weather conditions and outside regular office hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Claims Operational Systems and SIU software applications.
• Social media research techniques for investigative purposes.
• Event Data Recorder (EDR) data extraction and analysis.
• Advanced interviewing and statement‑taking skills, including Examinations Under Oath (EUOs).
