Field Application Engineer - Server Infrastructure

About the role

AMAX is looking for a customer-facing Field Application Engineer in Fremont to act as the technical bridge between customers, sales teams and internal engineering groups for OEM server and rack infrastructure solutions. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from requirement discussions and system architecture reviews to deployment support and issue resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical liaison between customers and AMAX engineering teams, translating customer requirements to internal engineering, manufacturing, validation and program teams.
• Coordinate technical discussions on server platforms, rack integration, thermal design, networking, storage, power and deployment.
• Support sales teams during customer visits, technical presentations and solution discussions, and help with proposals and configuration guidance.
• Take part in project kickoffs, technical reviews and customer escalations.
• Coordinate with hardware, mechanical, thermal, BIOS/BMC, validation, manufacturing and quality teams, and monitor project technical status.
• Help with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and corrective actions during qualification and deployment, and manage technical documentation and engineering reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Strong customer-facing communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical information to customers.
• Experience supporting sales activities and customer meetings is highly preferred.
• Ability to travel for customer visits and onsite support.
