Software Engineer III - Java, Database, AWS

About the role

JPMorganChase is hiring a Software Engineer III in its Commercial & Investment Bank's Payments Technology group. As a seasoned member of an agile team, you will design and deliver trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable and scalable way, solving critical technology problems across several technical areas and business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and troubleshoot software solutions, thinking beyond routine approaches
• Write secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed and productivity, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing and secure coding standards
• Apply knowledge of the SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation, to increase the value of automation
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote awareness of new technologies

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
• At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience
• Proven record of end-user support with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and an understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Java and Spring Boot
• Full SDLC, software engineering principles, design patterns and best practices
• Agile, CI/CD, application resiliency and security, and automation and continuous delivery
• Relational and NoSQL databases (preferred)
• On-premises and/or public cloud (preferred)
