Specialist, Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

The Specialist, Machine Learning Engineer will help identify and mitigate risks in AI projects, ensuring responsible and ethical AI deployment across the organization. You will act as a trusted AI consultant, working closely with business and technical stakeholders to embed safety, security and explainability into AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Assess AI models, agents and systems for potential risks, safety, security and explainability (XAI) using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Provide guidance on responsible AI design, policy processes and governance, and support community‑engagement and training initiatives.
• Stay current on AI developments, regulatory changes and best practices, contributing to internal and external guidance.

Required profile

• 2+ years of relevant experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, trust & safety, risk management or governance.
• Strong analytical mindset, self‑motivation and ability to communicate technical viewpoints clearly to senior stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or analytical discipline (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics) or related fields such as Law, Philosophy or Psychology.

Required skills

• Hands‑on development in Python for data science, machine learning and generative AI.
• Experience with large language models (LLMs), synthetic data generation and generative models.
• Knowledge of Explainable AI techniques such as SHAP and LIME.
