Farsi Linguist

About the role

Leidos is seeking a Farsi Linguist for a position at Offutt AFB in Omaha, Nebraska. The role supports a large program for Air Combat Command's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission. It calls for translation, research and analytic skills, and candidates must hold a current TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.

Key responsibilities

• Provide written translation of technical and non-technical data from Farsi to English
• Write gists and summaries of materials
• Conduct open source research
• Write reports in English
• Respond to requests for information
• Provide the cultural, social and ethnic context of translations, including gisting or screening of content

Required profile

• Current DoD TS/SCI with polygraph on day 1
• 4+ years of experience and an Associate's degree (additional experience may be considered in lieu of the degree)
• Language proficiency within the past 12 months meeting the Interagency Language Roundtable scale
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with personnel from diverse cultures

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications
• Ability to work independently with minimal or no oversight and as a team member
