Farm Production Assistant (Seasonal)

About the role

Southside Blooms is seeking a hands‑on Farm Production Assistant to support daily operations on its urban cut‑flower farm. This seasonal, part‑time position is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, values sustainable agriculture, and wants to contribute to community‑focused farming.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planting, weeding, irrigating, and general crop maintenance.
• Support greenhouse and field production across multiple growth stages.
• Harvest flowers at optimal maturity and handle them carefully to preserve quality.
• Process, clean, and bunch flowers for storage and distribution.
• Maintain farm tools, infrastructure, and workspaces.
• Monitor pests and diseases under supervision.
• Help prepare deliveries and occasional market or event setups.
• Uphold safety, cleanliness, and organization throughout the farm.

Required profile

• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks, lifting up to ~40 lb, and standing for long periods.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Willingness to learn, follow detailed instructions, and work collaboratively.
