About the role

Lilly offers a Fall 2027 Doctoral Internship for Ph.D. or PharmD students to work on cutting‑edge drug discovery and development projects. Interns will gain hands‑on experience with AI tools and a broad range of scientific techniques while contributing to real research outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in AI/ML‑assisted research, analytical development, and bioassay development.
• Conduct biological testing of compounds, organic and peptide synthesis, and chemical modality projects.
• Apply computational biology and computational chemistry methods to support discovery.
• Perform molecular biology, protein expression, purification, characterization, and formulation work.
• Engage in flow chemistry, drug product design, and performance testing.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a Ph.D. or PharmD program in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
• Previous laboratory or pharmaceutical research experience.
