About the role

The Environmental Services Floor Care Technician joins Ochsner’s Environmental Services team in Crowley, providing essential cleaning and maintenance of VCT and carpeted floors across patient, clinical, public, and administrative areas. This position supports a safe, clean environment that contributes to exceptional patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain VCT and carpet floors according to Environmental Services standards.
• Operate and care for floor‑care equipment such as automatic scrubbers, battery and electrical burnishers, all‑purpose matadors, and carpet extractors.
• Keep Environmental Services closets and equipment organized and aseptic.
• Assist with cleaning projects and collaborate as part of a team.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating Environmental Services equipment.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions in English and work with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules as needed.

Required skills

• Operation of automatic floor scrubbers.
• Use of battery and electrical burnishers.
• Use of all‑purpose matador machines.
• Carpet extractor operation.
• Basic knowledge of VCT floor care and carpet floor care.
