About the role

The Clinical/Medical Lab Technician receives and prepares specimens, performs analytical laboratory tests, and ensures quality control in a hospital setting. The role supports patient care by maintaining accurate test results and operating laboratory equipment under general supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive, label, and process specimens according to standard protocols.
  • Perform analytical tests, calculations, and quality control procedures.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and monitor laboratory equipment.
  • Conduct phlebotomy procedures as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to regulatory guidelines.

Required profile

  • Associate's degree or military MLT certificate in medical laboratory science or related field.
  • Current Clinical Lab Scientist Generalist license (or obtain within 180 days).
  • ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Preferred experience in hospital or clinical laboratory testing.

Required skills

  • Computer data entry and retrieval skills.
  • Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and laboratory software.
  • Phlebotomy technique.
