Enrollment Specialist – Child Development

About the role

The Enrollment Specialist supports the Child Development Department by managing enrollment, financial transactions, and family engagement to ensure children’s attendance and academic success.

Key responsibilities

• Engage families, respond to inquiries promptly, and resolve experience issues.
• Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to state and federal agencies.
• Act as liaison between Business Manager and families for registration payments and receipts.
• Process all program registrations, including EEC applications and renewals.
• Assist families with financial support program documentation and processing.
• Maintain wait lists, attendance records, and EEC voucher files in the CCFA database.
• Conduct internal audits and keep systematic financial records.
• Support program promotion by matching families to appropriate YMCA offerings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Services, Business, Social Services or related field preferred.
• 2‑5 years experience in a business office environment, preferably with youth development or family engagement.
• Knowledge of state and local childcare licensing requirements.
• Strong verbal and written communication, data analysis, and report writing skills.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, interdisciplinary setting.

Required skills

• Accounting methods and fiscal bookkeeping.
• Budget oversight and financial transaction management.
• Use of CCFA (Child Care Financial Assistance) system.
• Proficiency with YMCA internal software platforms.
