Teen Leader Youth & Government Advisor

About the role

The Teen Leader Youth & Government Advisor supports teen program development, supervision and recruitment at the Dorchester YMCA. Reporting to the Regional Teen Director, you will create a safe, engaging environment for middle and high school students.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement quality programs for middle and high school students while enforcing YMCA policies.
• Facilitate daily teen clubs, plan activities, and ensure compliance with Safe for You, Safe for Us (COVID‑19) guidelines.
• Maintain enrollment records, monitor participation, and coordinate with the management team to provide a teen‑friendly environment.
• Support recruitment efforts, attend community meetings, and manage program supplies and reporting.

Required profile

• Age 21 + with prior youth or teen programming experience.
• Ability to model YMCA character traits: responsibility, caring, honesty, and respect.
• Willingness to undergo regular performance evaluations and adhere to YMCA policies.

Required skills

• Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or obtain after hire).
• Program‑specific certifications as required by the YMCA.
