Dance Instructor – Cheerleading

About the role

The YMCA is seeking an energetic leader to teach cheerleading dance to youth ages 4‑12. The part‑time position involves 5‑10 hours per week, primarily on Saturday mornings and afternoons, with flexible scheduling based on instructor availability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver dance lessons and routines for various age groups.
• Provide technique feedback, manage classroom behavior, and maintain a safe, youth‑focused environment.
• Collaborate with other instructors and maintain accurate class rosters.
• Participate in performances and additional program activities as needed.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with youth and teens.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and physically engage with participants.
• Afternoon and weekend morning availability preferred.

Required skills

• CPR/AED certification (provided within 90 days).
• First Aid certification (provided within 90 days).
• Proficiency in one or multiple dance forms.
