Assistant Site Director – After School Programs

About the role

Under the direction of the Site Director, the Assistant Site Director supports daily after‑school operations, leading activities that combine learning, play, community exploration, sports, and swimming while modeling YMCA core values.

Key responsibilities

• Emphasize student safety and emotional well‑being; act as a positive role model.
• Plan and implement recreational and educational programs with group participation and choice.
• Manage daily attendance, absence calls, and roster confirmations.
• Provide behavior guidance, coach staff in group management, and facilitate games.
• Report accidents and incidents promptly and complete required documentation.
• Assist with daily activity planning, special events, and Family Night.
• Participate in opening, closing, and extended‑hour schedules; attend staff meetings and training.

Required profile

• At least 18 years old with a passion for working with children.
• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree or pursuit preferred.
• Experience in youth programs, camps, or related settings.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and effective communication.
• Current First Aid, Oxygen, and CPR certifications or willingness to complete YMCA training.
• Availability up to 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 10 am‑6 pm.
